Great Church (Grossmunster) – the 12 th century cathedral has historical and architectural significance, Ulrich Zwingli led an important sect of the Reformation from here in the early 1500s and the Cathedral’s twin towers serve as perhaps the most recognizable landmarks in modern Zurich.

Old Town (Altstadt) – the old town features cobblestone streets with variety of small stores, cafes, restaurants and the city’s most significant religious landmarks.

Zurich Ancient Cathedral

Church of Our Lady (Fraumunster) – the 13 th century Gothic cathedral is perhaps best known for one of its more additions, the stained glass windows designed by Marc Chagall in the 1970s.

St. Peter’s Church (St. Peterskirche) – the 13 th century church located on the left bank south of Lindenhof is the oldest church in Zurich. It has the largest clock face in Europe and inside, the choir is Romanesque but the three-aisle nave is baroque.

Water Church (Wasserkirche) – one of Switzerland’s most delicate late-Gothic structures and displays stained glass by Augusto Giacometti. The church and the Helmhaus once stood on the island on which martyrs Felix and Regula lost their head.
