Spain the third most popular tourist destination in the world, located in the southwestern Europe with Madrid as the capital. The Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands in the Atlantic and the cities of Ceuta and Melilla are included in Spanish territory. It also occupies the Iberian Peninsula and shores the Mediterranean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean and the Cantabrian Sea.

National Museum : the museum is the largest art gallery in the world and also includes sculptors, drawings and other artistic treasures. The exhibits are the royal collections of Carlos IV. The main worthy collections are the Spanish paintings from the 17 th and 18 th century of the Velazquez and Goya period, an extensive collection of their respective works include the famous ‘Majas’.

The Royal Palace of Madrid : the royal palace was built in the 18 th century by the order of Philip V. The palace was built on an ancient fortress site, a muslim castle. The work began in 1738 and was completed in 1764 by Sachetti and Sabatini created the southeast ring and the staircase of honor.

Monastery : the religious building located right in center of Madrid was founded by Juana de Austria, sister of Felipe II. Many ladies belonging to the nobility were shut away in the monastery and took their trousseau with them.

Museo Arqueologico Nacional : located in one of the best Isabelline buildings in Madrid and created by Queen Isabel II. The exhibition includes displays of prehistory, the Altamira caves and up to the renaissance works.

El Pardo Royal Palace : the hunting grounds of the Castilian Kings and was commissioned by Carlos V at the hunting pavilion where the monarchs went to hunt. Felipe V rebuilt the palace and was completed under the reign of Carlos III. The palace with a square base with towers at each corner, reminiscent of the French palaces. The interior houses an impressive staircase was designed by Sabatini.

Liria Palace : the palace of Liria was the residence of the Duchess of Alba built in the 18 th century. The neoclassical monuments walls displays some of the best private collections of Spanish art was constructed by Gilbert, Ventura Rodriguez and later by Sabatini.

San Isidro Chapel in San Andres Church : the chapel built in the 17 th century by architect Jose de Villarreal to house the remains of San Isidro. After the ravaging fires in 1936 the chapel is the only remain of the church of San Andres.

Museo Sorolla : the museum is located on the residential and studio site of Joaquin Sorolla Bastida. The colourist period of the painter is the main feature most due to its landscapes brimming with impressionism.
