Cyprus Historical Sites

Choirokoitia–Neolithic Settlement : the settlement is a UNESCO world cultural and heritage site and one of the best preserved than any other sites in the world from that period. It provides information of the Neolithic settlements and the spreading of the culture during the period.

Kalavassos Tenta-Neolithic Settlement : also one of the most imporatnt Neolithic settlements in Cyprus of 7000 BC located near the village of Kalavasos.

Kition- Archaeological Site : the architectural remains of ancient city kingdom dates back to the 13 th century BC. The Mycenaean Greeks rebuilt it in 1200 BC with giant blocks of stones a five temple complex.

Hala Sultan Tekke-Salt Lake : built on the tomb of Umm Haram an allegedly relative of Prophet Mohhamed, who died at the spot in 649 and built in 1816.

Politiko- Tamassos Royal Tombs : known for its copper mines the city’s excavations has brought the Royal Tombs and copper workshops associated with Aphrodite-Astarte.

Kolossi Medival Castle : located in Lemesos and constructed in the13th century is an example of military architecture.

Sanctury of Apollo Ylatis : located in Lemesos the god of the woodland and protector for the city of Kourion. The cult of Apollo was celebrated here from the 8 th century BC to 4 th century AD.

Kourion : the city kingdom with most spectular archaeological sites on the island and also the magnificent Graeco-Roman theatre was built in the 2 nd century B, which is restored for musical and theatrical performances.

Tombs of the Kings : located in Pafos, the underground tombs dates back to the 4 th century BC, which are carved of solid rocks and some are decorated with Doric pillars.

It was the burial place of high officials rather than kings.

Medival Ford : located in pafos the Byzantine fort was built to protect the harbour.

Agios Georgios : it is an archaeological site located in Pafos.

Cyprus HICP Inflation Slows In December (INO News)
(RTTNews) - Monday, the Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus revealed in a report that the harmonized index of consumer prices, or HICP rose 1.8% year-over-year in December, slower than the 3.1% in the previous month. A year ago, the HICP was up 3.7%.
